Sarkis Mazmanian explores probiotics for autism

On 12 June, Sarkis Mazmanian presented his lab’s work investigating the connection between gut bacteria, intestinal disease and autism — and how understanding this connection may lead to novel treatments for the disorder. Mazmanian is professor of biology at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California.
